Under 8s
The Caterpillar Pre-School runs five mornings a week at the Hanworth Centre. It is available to children between the ages of 2 years 2 months and 4 years 6 months. There are up to 26 children per session and most children attend either two or three days a week from 9:00 to 11:45. In the dedicated new wing, which opened in 2005, the children can play and learn with our caring staff team in a stimulating environment, both indoors and outside in the multi-surface playground.

Caterpillar Pre-School relies on fundraising to provide much of the equipment and materials used by the children. We also provide subsidised places to those families who would otherwise find it difficult to cover the cost of the sessions for their children before they are eligable for funding via the government's nursery vouchers scheme (from the term after their 3rd birthday). The current cost per session for children under 3 is £10.00.
Health Visitors' Baby Clinic is held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30. The cost is £1 per session. This is for newborn babies to check their progress and answer any questions relating to the baby's health.
Stay and Play is held on Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00. It provides an opportunity to get little ones to play together in a safe space and to socialise with other parents and carers.
Al-Umm Mother and Toddler Group meets on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 3:30. Most members are Muslim, but any mother with a pre-school aged child is welcome. Children participate in group and craft activites as well as play. A voluntary contribution of £1 per session is suggested to cover the cost of rent and materials.
